No Need to Hold the Mayo
Following up on a story from earlier this week, it appears the controversy surrounding O.J. Mayo's NCAA rule violation is over before it was even assigned a catchy nickname ending in "-gate." Mayo's family has made a charitable donation of $460 -- the face value of the tickets Mayo was given by Carmelo Anthony -- and the USC freshman's eligibility has been restored.
There's no word as to whether or not USC coach Tim Floyd will face any disciplinary action. By his own admission, Floyd gave Mayo the OK to accept the tickets.
