Missing Man Formation

Wednesday January 30, 2008
Syracuse isn't the only shorthanded team this week; ESPN.com is reporting that the Missouri Tigers have suspended five players -- all of them either starters or key reserves -- as a result of an altercation at a nightclub over the weekend.

In addition to being suspended, leading scorer Stefhon Hannah (14.7 ppg) suffered a broken jaw and will likely miss the rest of the season. Guard Jason Horton and forwards Marshall Brown, Darryl Butterfield and Leo Lyons were with Hannah at the time and have also been suspended indefinitely. They'll miss Wednesday's game against Nebraska at a minimum.

The scene of the altercation -- a Columbia, Missouri club called "Athena" -- is fairly notorious. The Associated Press reports that Columbia police have responded to over 100 calls about fights and other disturbances at that location, and the city is attempting to have its liquor license revoked.
