NCAA President Brand has Pancreatic Cancer
Saturday January 17, 2009
NCAA president Myles Brand has pancreatic cancer, the organization announced on Saturday. According to the statement, his prognosis is not good.
Brand has headed the NCAA since 2002. Before moving to that position, he was president of Indiana University, where he famously clashed with -- and eventually fired -- coach Bob Knight.
We wish Mr. Brand and his family the best during what must be a difficult time.
