Wake Forest Has All Star Bragging Rights

Saturday January 31, 2009
Wake Forest and the ACC will have bragging rights at next months' NBA All Star game... Wake is the only school that can boast more than one all star, with Demon Deacons Chris Paul and Tim Duncan representing the Western Conference.

Of course, bragging rights are relative... the number of players from any one school or conference is dwarfed by the number of 2009 all stars who didn't play college hoops at all. Six all stars (LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Amar'e Stoudemire, Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis) jumped to the NBA directly from high school, and four more -- Yao Ming, Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol and Tony Parker -- came from overseas.

Here's a look at all of the 2009 All Stars and the schools where they got their start.
