Quick updates on some NBA-related stories...
- The insider trading case against Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been dismissed by a federal judge. The Securities and Exchange Commission has 30 days to re-file charges should they so choose.
- Houston Rockets' center Yao Ming purchased the Shanghai Sharks. Yao played for the Sharks from 1997-2002, winning a league championship in his final season. But the team has struggled -- both record-wise and financially -- since the big fella left for the NBA. Yao assured reporters he's not planning to retire just yet, he just saw an opportunity to "give back" to the franchise where he got his start.
- And in our second NBA player wedding story in as many days... Spurs forward Richard Jefferson made headlines this week for reportedly leaving his bride at the altar. Jefferson took to the air this week, giving his side of the story on the Howard Stern Show on XM. Sounds like the headlines made Jefferson's break-up look a bit more callous and dramatic than necessary. (Sensationalistic headlines in The New York Post? I know... I was shocked too.)
Please note... the audio from the Stern show contains... the sort of things you might expect from the Stern show. You might not want to listen if, say, your mom is in the room.
