Two key members of the Louisville Cardinals spent the night in Clark County Jail.
The players -- Terrence Jennings and Jerry Smith -- were involved in a fight at a party in Jeffersonville on Saturday night. According to police reports, Jennings refused to cooperate with off-duty officers investigating the fracas and was booked for resisting arrest -- a misdemeanor. Smith got involved at that point and was also charged with resisting arrest. According to a report in the Louisville Courier-Journal, officers used a taser to subdue the 6-10 Jennings.
Both Jennings -- a sophomore center -- and Smith -- a senior guard -- were expected to be starters for the 2009-10 Cardinals. It remains to be seen what repercussions they'll face... but after all the negative press the Louisville program has received this summer thanks to Rick Pitino and his... indiscretions... don't be surprised if the punishment is severe.
