South Florida Student Wins, Loses, Wins $10,000
The University of South Florida student that won $10,000 in a Midnight Madness promotion can finally start spending his money.
Philip Davis thought he had won the ten grand after hitting a ringer on horseshoe toss from about 70 feet. The athletic department -- and the insurance company underwriting the contest -- disagreed, saying he'd stepped over a line.
A week later, they relented, and Davis got his oversized novelty check.
Can't help wondering -- who's running promotions for USF? Jackie Moon?
