Should Young Athletes Specialize in One Sport?

With the expansion of AAU ball and other summer programs, it is now possible for high school-and-younger athletes to play competitive basketball all year.

But is it a good idea?

On the one hand, all those extra spring and summer reps can help build mastery of crucial skills. But too much of one thing can lead to burnout - or even physical problems.
