The Philadelphia 76ers have joined the Hurricane Sandy relief effort, launching "Operation Rebound."

From team CEO and coowner Adam Aron, via Twitter:

Go to SIXERSOPERTIONREBOUND.COM and you can pitch in too. You can bid on unique 76ers items and experiences to help our New Jersey neighbors.

Funds raised by Operation Rebound will go to the American Red Cross.

The league, and several other teams and players have also stepped up to make contributions to the relief effort. The NBA and NBPA have already pledged $1 million to the cause. Madison Square Garden has pledged $500,000, and will hold a telethon to raise more during this Friday's game between the Knicks and Dallas Mavericks.
