The biggest name on the block is Dwight Howard, but he's far from alone. Quite a few NBA teams will be looking to improve their rosters -- or their bottom lines -- via trade deadline deals.
Here's a look at some of the players that could be changing addresses, and the teams that could be active between now and the deadline, which is March 15th.
Carmelo Anthony Back on the Block?
Carmelo Anthony traded at the deadline for the second year in a row? Seems unlikely... but that's the rumor buzzing through the New York tabloids. Theoretically, Anthony could be packaged with Tyson Chandler in a deal for Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu...
Analysis: The Knicks have hit the skids since Anthony returned to the lineup and have lost six straight games... and even Anthony's biggest defenders have doubts as to whether or not he can fit and be productive in a lineup with Amar'e Stoudemire. But I have a hard time believing Knicks management would give up on Anthony this quickly.
Will the Magic trade Dwight Howard?
Orlando's superstar center can opt out of his contract after this season, and would reportedly welcome a trade to the Nets. But the Magic seem to think they still have a chance to convince Howard to re-sign.
Analysis: It's difficult to see what the Nets - or any team, really - could give the Magic in any deal for Howard, especially with Brook Lopez struggling through an injury-riddled season. It might make more sense for the Magic to hold on to Howard on the slim chance that he'll be willing to sign a new long-term deal.
Are the Celtics shopping Rajon Rondo?
The Celtics' championship "Big Three" is getting old, which leaves Boston general manager Danny Ainge with a difficult decision. Should he trade a Kevin Garnett or Ray Allen to a contender and start re-tooling? Or should he try and make a bigger splash by dealing his most valuable commodity, point guard Rajon Rondo? Adding to the intrigue is the long-standing rumor that Rondo and Celtics coach Doc Rivers get along about as well as Harry Potter and Voldemort.
Analysis: Ainge has made some eyebrow-raising decisions in the past - the trade of Kendrick Perkins in particular - so nothing would really surprise me. But if I was calling the shots, there's no way I'd trade Rondo - who just 26 years old - without getting a superstar in return.
Lakers looking to make a trade?
The aborted Chris Paul trade left the Lakers in an awkward position. Everyone knows they tried to deal Pau Gasol... and had to take him back.
Uncomfortable? Very.
General manager Mitch Kupchak wants to re-tool for another championship run while Kobe Bryant is still playing at an elite level, and dealing Gasol is probably his best option. The Lakers could also make a deal using the sizable trade exception they acquired by dealing Lamar Odom for a draft pick before the season.
Is Andrew Bogut on the block?
Josh Smith asks for trade
Atlanta forward Josh Smith has requested a trade, and is sure to draw lots of interest. But Smith doesn't have a ton of leverage to force a deal; he won't hit free agency until the summer of 2013.Break up the Blazers?
Portland's offseason acquisitions of Jamal Crawford and Raymond Felton haven't worked out as anticipated - the Blazers are currently mired in a 4-8 slump, and both guards' names are surfacing in a wide variety of trade rumors. Both have very reasonable contracts, which should help when looking for buyers. Felton's $7.5 million deal expires after this season, while Crawford is making just $5 million this year, with a 2012-13 player option for the same number.
