On October 26, 2009 -- before tipping off the 2009-10 season against in-house rivals the Los Angeles Clippers, the NBA champions received their rings.
The ring is Kobe Bryant's fourth -- he previously won titles with the Lakers in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Of course, that's nothing compared to his coach. Phil Jackson now has twelve NBA championships on his resume -- four as coach of the Lakers, six more with Michael Jordan and the Bulls, and two as a player (1970 and 1973, with the Knicks).
The Lakers have plenty of experience with this sort of ceremony... the 2009 title is the 15th in franchise history.
