Brandon Jennings is the first American high school basketball star to choose a year in the European pro leagues over a year of college competition -- signing a contract with Virtus Roma of the Italian League worth a reported $600,000.

Jennings, a McDonald's All-American point guard, originally signed with the Arizona Wildcats, but began to consider the Euroleague when he had trouble getting the SAT scores necessary to qualify at Arizona. The big question now is, "how many other high schoolers -- prevented by age limits from jumping right to the NBA -- will chase big dollars in Europe?"
