Basketball's Top Returning Players

The guys in the draft get all the hype, but lots of top performers will be back in school in September -- and on the court in November. Here's a look at some of the top returning players for the 2009-10 college basketball season.

Al-Farouq Aminu - Wake Forest

Most observers thought Aminu would be a one-and-done player, but Wake Forest's outstanding small forward will be back with the Deacons this season.

Kemba Walker - Connecticut

The Connecticut Huskies will have a very different look this season, with Hasheem Thabeet and A.J. Price moving on to the NBA. But Jim Calhoun's crew, led by sophomore point guard Kemba Walker, could challenge for yet another Big East title.

Willie Warren - Oklahoma

The Griffin brothers are gone -- which makes the Sooners Willie Warren's team. Don't think that responsibility will bother Oklahoma's electric guard much.

Patrick Patterson - Kentucky

John Calipari's outstanding recruiting class gets lots of pub, but don't sleep on the most important holdover from Billy Gillispie's squad -- Patrick Patterson passed up a shot at the NBA draft and should emerge as one of the nation's top power forwards this season.

Ed Davis - North Carolina

The national champions sent Tyler Hansbrough, Danny Green, Tywon Lawson and Wayne Ellington to the NBA... but that doesn't mean Roy Williams' cupboard is bare. There's plenty of talent on hand in Chapel Hill, and sophomore forward/center Ed Davis may be the best of the bunch.
