The official award criteria states that candidates must excel on both offense and defense and exhibit strong team play, display strong character on and off the court, and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
The only two-time winner of the Wooden Award is Virginia center Ralph Sampson, who was honored in 1982 and 83. North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough could become the second two-time winner, but he'll face stiff competition from the likes of Oklahoma's Blake Griffin and Davidson's Stephen Curry.
