Profile:

Impressive runs in the NCAA Tournament earned four schools a share of the spotlight at one of the signature early-season events in college basketball, the Jimmy V Classic.

This year's doubleheader will feature West Virginia -- the team that knocked Duke out of March Madness -- against Stephen Curry and the Davidson Wildcats. The late game will pit the Texas Longhorns against the Villanova Wildcats.

Both games will be broadcast on ESPN.

The Jimmy V Classic is one of the signature annual events of the V Foundation, the charity created by North Carolina State coach and broadcaster Jim Valvano during his own battle with the cancer that ultimately killed him. Since 1993, the V Foundation has raised over $70 million for cancer research.
